About Peter

Peter Maki is a Hudson, WI native pursuing PGA membership and a career in the golf business as a teaching professional. Currently an apprentice, he has a passion for helping people improve and enjoy the game he loves. Golf provides a unique challenge, unlike any other, and has evolved from an interest to a passion and now a way of life. Like Brent, Peter has lived all across the country ranging from Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Carolina and California where he spent several winters as an assistant professional at Indian Ridge Country Club in Palm Desert.

Post High school Peter attended Iowa State University and studied mechanical engineering. His technical background is now being applied to studying the golf swing and the motions that drive it. Students can expect to learn the “how” and “why” their golf ball does what it does. Students will leave the lesson with a clear plan of what they need to do along with a short video of concepts covered and what they worked on. As a player he understands that technical knowledge needs to be applied along with learning how to play the game fearless and free.

Peter is in his sixth year of coaching the Men’s and Women’s programs at Concordia-St Paul.  2023-2024 is his second year as head coach following four years as the assistant.  His experience and knowledge of college golf is valuable to our team and community.
